Ever since 2002, during the first week following the Orthodox Easter, Brasov citizens celebrate the most appreciated and expected cultural event every year. On this occasion the historical centre of Brasov hosts the Romanian Popular Craftsmen and Artisans’ Fair and different cultural events. On Tomas Sunday (first Sunday after the Orthodox Easter) the groups of “Juni” (young men) come down to the old fortified city parading from Piata Prundului (Prund Square). Than down on Bd. Eroilor (Heroes’ Boulevard), to Piata Sfatului (Council Square) and back to Pietrele lui Solomon (Solomon’s Cliffs), where they stop for a barbecue party. This parade represents a recognition of their importance for the defence of the old fortified city of Brasov.
